Soap is naturally antimicrobial by its nature of action - it is cleansing, mechanically, by the physical action of washing and rinsing, thereby removing surface contamination, and it has surfactant properties that are chemically damaging to microbes.
ALL soaps exhibit these properties and are vital in terms of the increased hygiene requirements during the current outbreak.
It makes sense, however, that the instant sanitising effect of soap can be augmented by the further addition of agents, synthetic or naturally derived, that stay on the skin, in part, even after rinsing to provide additional protection between washing.
The antimicrobial agents in this recipe are a combination of Lavender and Tea tree essential oils. 3% total - when we wash our hands, it's estimated that approximately 1% of the product stays on the skin - in terms of essential oils, the simple proof of this is to just smell you hands after washing.
The Packaging
Natural soaps need to breathe. Exposure to the air promotes hardening of our soaps and contributes to longer-lasting quality. Our soaps are packaged in breathable, recyclable, sustainable cotton linen bags.
When your soap gets to small to handle, pop the bits in the bag and be sure to use every last little bit up!
