Go wild with design, applique, stitch and textile at this stitched mixed media workshop with Jennie Lamb.
Jennie will help you create your own unique design you can then choose to make an iron on patch or apply your design directly to a piece of clothing, a bag, or your favourite denim shirt etc.
Your designs can be a anything you want them to be a plethera of Mixed Media or simple plain stitching there are no rules and no limits to what you can do in this class, with Jennies amazing collection of mixed media to choose from and her help and expertise to guide you.
This is a really great way to upcycle a tired pair of jeans repair a much loved jacket or simply brighten up some children’s clothing (not required for the class unless you want to stitch directly onto the garment)
Kits will be provided for each student and will include an embroidery hoop, interface, fabrics, threads, needles and all you need to create your own unique piece.
All you need to bring is a pair of scissors and a sense of fun
Suitable for age 9 upwards.
No previous embroidery skills required.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR
Jennie Lamb
Jennie’s passion for textile and mixed media started whilst she was at sixth form college in the 1980’s when Punk and New Romantic design was front and centre of her world. Circumstances led to her in a different direction and she had a career in Make Up Design; but her interest was kept alive through designing and creating tapestry and colourful crochet blankets .
Over the last few years her passion for textiles has been rediscovered via community projects she has led in her home village Appledore, Devon.
2020/21 saw the production and coordination of a 16ft Crochet Christmas tree with the help of the community knitters and crocheters. 2021/22 saw the construction of a mixed media Under the Sea Installation and this year Jennie is co ordinationg a large mixed media banner recording the social history of Appledore for future generations.
When she is not doing that she is stitching brooches, badges and upcycling denim with her own original designs.
She loves to teach and lead community projects and takes great joy from the pleasure it brings others.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel a workshop
We try our best to price our workshops fairly and offer good value for money. We therefore have a clear non-refundable policy to ensure that we cover our costs and the ongoing viability of the workshop.
We do appreciate that sometimes-unforeseen circumstances may mean that you can’t attend a workshop so we are happy for you to send along a friend to take your place, we will need their name and contact details prior to the workshop.
If you contact us at least 14 days in advance of the start date of the workshop we can provide a voucher to be used for a future workshop booking.
Our right to cancel a workshop
Should we need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances a full refund will be given, we will aim to give you as much notice as possible of the cancellation. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any liability for travel or other costs.
